Jillian is shy and can't find love. She stumbles upon her descendant's time machine and is shot back to The Old West-only to occupy the body of the town belle, an aristocratic and bold woman. She meets the only man in town who would reject her. She's going to go for it.
She ripped her hand from Trent's, lifted both and blinked back her tears.
"I know what I have to do to keep you here," Trent blurted out.
"I have to leave, my love."
"In this century, Jillian. My secret, I know about that scientist, your descendent. I have to write that letter and ask him to keep you here before he destroys his machine. I'll put it in the care of a company that will keep it in a safe for over two hundred years then a future employee will give it to him. I'm going to write that letter tonight."
"What?" Miss Jones shifted her weapon pointed at his chest, pulled the trigger, and a horrible crack shot off. Her eyes became huge, and she gasped as if she had not planned to kill him. An act of passion.
Trent clutched his chest while blood spurted from it. He looked down then into Jillian's eyes as she screamed.
The boy ran, yelling. "Aaaaah! Help!"
Trent fell to the dirt, motionless. Jillian dropped atop him, clutching him, sobbing and gasping. Miss Jones ran off into the tall hills behind the row of businesses.
